I cannot believe it’s time to say hello to 2016! Before I talk about my goals for the New Year, I want to reminisce on some highlights from 2015. This year has been one for the books and below are some of my favorite moments from the year!
Creating my dream, Sweet Ladi Jane –
I am so thankful for the people who inspired me to create Sweet Ladi Jane. Sometimes, I have to pinch myself. I’m so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to create a platform to share with the world and I couldn’t do it without my teammates. It’s been such a fun beginning, and I cannot wait to see what 2016 has in store. I feel great having my own creative space in the world. Thank you ALL for joining me!
Hilariously making Taylor Swift’s Instagram video –
Now this is a funny one. And…maybe I shouldn’t be allowed in dressing rooms after shows anymore…there was some interpretive dancing going on 😳. I was backstage at one of the Taylor Swift shows on the 1989 Tour, with the band, Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor. We were being silly and having a little dance party-jam session, which Taylor ended up posting on Instagram. Ha! I received several funny texts the next morning. This was a memorable night with some of the kindest, most intelligent, and beautiful artists I have ever met.
Our Most Memorable Date –
Phillip and I like to make it a point to go on dates and we always make time for them. It doesn’t have to be at night, lunch dates can be fun and romantic too. I think it’s important to make time and nurture your relationship with your partner. Your babies will grow up, and eventually have a family of their own. Then it will be back to the basics for the two of you. One of my favorite dates from this year was a lunch date, on a Tuesday. Phillip took me to a great restaurant called Gray’s on Main Street. We had been talking about going there for awhile, so we went to celebrate the launch of Sweet Ladi Jane. It was such a special lunch, and now is one of my favorite spots. The bartender even named a cocktail after Sweet Ladi Jane! There will definitely be more to come about Gray’s on Main St, keep your eyes peeled!
Best Girl Power Moment –
Next, there is my girl power moment of 2015. There is nothing like when your girls rally around you in a moment of chaos. We flew to New York City for The Food Bank charity fundraiser and the airline lost my bag…worst nightmare ever! Especially when you wear jeans with holes in the knees and a t-shirt on the plane. There was no way I could go to a formal event wearing those clothes. I had nothing to wear, and no make-up to put on. Thankfully my sweet friends, Karen and Kimberly, let me borrow their clothes, shoes, and jewelry! They put together a beautiful outfit for me, and asked their make-up artists to help me out. They didn’t have to do that, but they did anyway. I can’t express how much it meant for the girls to help me look and feel my best. I love girl power moments like this, women supporting women.
Proud Mommy Moment-
One of my proudest moments this year has been the way Penelopi has excelled at reading. Reading is such an important key to education and communication. In the past, it has been one of my biggest struggles, so I’m thankful that it’s one of her strong suits. She loves to read non-fiction books and chapter books. Penelopi is one smart girl, and I have loved every minute of watching her grow and learn this year.
Favorite Disney Puppy Moment-
Our sweet beautiful Disney Fluffy Puppy. We love her so much. When she meets people, it’s instant friendship. One weekend, we had an opportunity to bring her on the road. I am not sure who loved it more, us or Disney! It was nice to have her curl up at my feet at the end of the night, and the kids enjoyed taking care of the sweet pup.
Comment below with your favorite moment from 2015. I would love to hear them!
