I’m one of those people who loves a warm beverage, especially on a cold winter afternoon. Caffeine and wrapping my hands around a hot mug definitely help me get through the winter. I also love the social and community aspects that coffee provides. My frequent visits to coffee shops are due to hangs and conversations with friends. I’m lucky to live in a city with endless options of coffee shops to choose from, and with new ones always popping up, it’s hard to keep track. I have even started a list of new shops that I would like to visit!
Here is a list that includes a few of my favorite coffee shops in town. Do you have a favorite coffee hot spot in Nashville? I would love to add a few to my list of places to try.
305 Sheldon Valley Dr, Nolensville, TN
My favorite shop would have to be Mama’s Java in Nolensville. I could not have more love for the people who run the shop. They are hard working, kind, and know a great cup of coffee. Melissa, the owner, roasts the coffee beans right in the shop. She even has a viewing window so you can watch the action happen. You can often find me there with a coffee and plain bagel with sausage, egg & cheese. They have recently expanded to a food truck so you don’t have to be in Nolensville to enjoy Mama’s Java. This little mom & pop shop is near and dear to my heart!
Frothy Monkey [multiple locations]
2509 12th Ave S., Nashville, TN
With several locations in Nashville, the original 12 South shop is usually my go-to after shopping at Cadeau or White’s Mercantile. They have a location in downtown Franklin, as well. I’ll also say that aside from their amazing coffee, you can’t go wrong with any of the food from their fresh menu.
2181 Hillsboro Rd, Franklin, TN 37069
There is a little secret area, right outside of Nashville, called Grassland. It’s very charming and I have been visiting the area since I was a child. The Good Cup is owned by a husband and wife team that believes in community. That belief is reflected by the people who work to make the experience enjoyable. I love the vibe of this place and it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a study break or coffee date on the outskirts of Nashville.
The Perch [multiple locations]
117 Franklin Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027
Coffee and Crepes…need I say more? I love the quaint atmosphere of The Perch and the variety of crepes on their menu from sweet or salty to light or hardy. My friend, Caroline, and I actually shot a Tv commercial there…That’s how I discovered them! And, there is a cute boutique connected to the location in Brentwood.

Word of mouth and a Yelp! search has me itching to try The Headquarters coffee shop. It looks trendy and homey. Very Nashville – esk. I’ll let you know how it goes!
