I definitely consider myself a girly girl and love trying different makeup brands and techniques. As we gear up for next month’s Grammys, I’m excited to put on a beautiful dress and get all dolled up for the evening. What an incredible moment it will be to experience.
I have some of my favorite beauty products that work for me and that I prefer. Below are some of my staple beauty items that get packed up and travel with me to every final destination. What are your must have makeup items that you travel with?
Nothing feels better than a clean face. I love to get out of the shower and put on the Shiseido white lucent brightness. It just gets rid of the dark circles and spots on your face, and makes your skin look more dewy.
Oribe Dry Shampoo/Conditioner/Blowout
Dry shampoo can often leave your hair feeling extremely dry and hair spray can make it feel crunchy. To avoid this feeling, I get the Oribe dry shampoo and the dry conditioner spray from the Cosmetic Market. I also use their Royal Blowout oil.
OPI Nail Polish
I love OPI, in every form it comes in – shellac, regular, or nail strengthening. I love it because it can take a beating and it rarely chips . I am hard on my nails and I have been consciously working on treating them better. For my everyday, I love OPI clear nail strengthener. For the events that I attend, OPI has the best colors. They are beautiful, on trend, and bold.
Ardell Fake Eyelashes
I am a girl who loves some lashes! When I was a studying ballet, in high school and college, eyelashes and my pointe shoes were my two favorite things to put on before I hit the stage. This particular brand, Ardell, is a great option for me because I still look natural, but with a bit of enhancement. With all the lights and cameras on the red carpet, like the theater stage, it helps to have a little natural enhancement.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
I use the Smashbox photo finish primer and swear by it! It gets rid of dark spots and evens out my makeup when I apply it. I always take a hot shower, to open my pores and as soon as I can, I apply my face moisturizer, let it settle, apply my primer, let that dry, and then my foundation. I have learned that letting things settle and soak in, helps to not create a make up mud mess.
Charlotte Tilbury Face Coverage
I am a strong believer that it is worth it to spend a little extra on face makeup, and in my opinion Charlotte Tilbury makes the best on the market. This lightweight, anti-aging, and the natural face makeup is sold online. Get a nice foundation, and then you can buy a mascara from Amazon or Target. My favorite Charlotte Tilbury items are below.
Jordana Best Lash Mascara
I found this mascara by sheer fate! One of the make-up artist I work with, Tania Staps, offered me a tube of it. I usually bring my own, because my eyes are sensitive and I often get allergic reactions. Tania was my artist for the CMT Artist of the Year event, and I forgot my mascara at home. She happens to always carry Jordana in her kit, and it has become my favorite brand to use with my false eyelashes. Best part is…it’s $6 on Amazon!
Brett Brow – Pencil Brow
Eyebrows are so important. I found this pencil to fill in my brows, and it is available at Cosmetic Market or Sephora. Remember that you need to accentuate what the good Lord gave you, not draw it in.
What are some of the beauty products that you swear by? I always love to try new products!
