Happy May 9th! May is part of my favorite season of the year, spring! All the blooms and warm weather makes me such a happy person. Below, I am sharing 9 of my favorite things this month. My love affair with spring is certainly reflected in this list.
1. Fairchild– Karen has come out with her spring line for Evine, and it is fabulous. If you know Karen, you are very aware of her great taste in fashion, and her line is a great reflexion of that passion. The quality of the clothes is amazing, especially for this price point. You will be able to wear these pieces for seasons to come. I have these three pieces in my closet!
2. Zara Kids– I cannot tell you how hard it is to find clothes for Penelopi. The struggle is real! The shorts are either too short or too big in the waist. I finally found some adorable pieces from ZARA Kids. This pink bomber jacket is my favorite! All the pants have an adjustable waistband, and the material is soft. I wish they would make the dusty pink tennis shoes in my size!
3. Effin Cucumber Vodka– I was introduced to a new cocktail on the Kill the Lights Tour by one of my dear friends, Caroline. The perfect cocktail for the summertime is a mix of Effin Cucumber Vodka and Ginger Beer, with a splash of blue La Croix. I will be sharing the recipe with y’all when I tell you about my summer party plans, so stay tuned!
4.Southern Charm Reality Show– I have to admit I am a sucker for a good reality show, and Southern Charm is my current guilty pleasure. The show is based off a group of friends living in high society Charleston, SC, and the storyline surrounds their trials and tribulations… aka mad, silly drama! Ms. Patricia is my favorite; I would just love to sit down and drink a martini with her! In the show, she threw a fabulous flamingo party, and that has since become one of my inspirations for a Pinterest board.
5.Faster, Smarter, Better by Charles Duhigg– I am trying to uphold my New Year’s Resolution about reading more books, and Charles Duhigg is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy his personal stories that pull you in coupled with the science he shares.
6.Bee Pollen or Local Honey– The pollen has been so thick in Nashville that my eyes have swollen up a couple of times. I try to avoid over-the-counter medicines if I can. I like to try natural products first, and for my allergies, I have been taking bee pollen. Local honey works the same, but I am not a super big fan of honey by itself. The pollen has been working for keeping my allergies at bay! Thank you, bees!
7.“The First Monday in May”– This documentary is about high fashion, art, and culture. I loved seeing behind-the-scenes of the creation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “China: Through the Looking Glass.” It’s incredible. A must-see, especially if you enjoyed watching the red carpet of the Met Gala.
8.Kevin Murphy’s Body Builder– Kimberly gave me a can of Body Builder for me to try, and I have fallen in love. I use this product on my damp hair and then dry my hair with a diffuser. Just don’t use this on dry hair or it will get crunchy.
9.Topshop Burnout Jogger Pants– I love comfy clothes, and my favorite color is pink, so when I saw these sweatpants, I knew I had to get them. They are so incredibly soft, and the cut is very flattering. I will live with these guys all summer!
Do you have something you are loving this month? I want to hear all about it!
